Black Train is a Lismore based band, playing Old-Timey Bluegrass Music with soaring Gospel Harmonies. Generally they performing as a four piece ensemble, featuring the founder, main man and Lismore legend ‘Reverend’ Kim McLean on vocals and mandolin, Helen Thwaites aka ‘Ma Squeeze Box’ on piano accordion, Miss Jodie on Upright Bass and backing Vocals and ‘Rockabilly Rebel’ Jimmy Mac on Resonator Guitar and Backing Vocals.

These guys and gals will have you dancing in the aisles, nodding your head, tapping your feet, singing and clapping along, as they take you on a journey back to the roots of traditional acoustic music, with their Unique Americana style.

With over 30 years of experience, performing from small cafes and intimate settings, to larger gatherings and festivals, these professional musicians can provide both acoustic and amplified entertainment, to suit any venue or occasion.
